Sports Day and The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations!

10th Jun 2016

It was our Sports Day on Friday 10th June.

We had sprint, egg and spoon and sack races for each class.

Then we had our "Regal Races" as part of our celebrations for the Queen's 90th Birthday.

We had 8 teams taking part with pupils from each class in each team.

The teams were called Balmoral, Buckingham, Sandringham, Windsor, Kensington, Clarence, Hillsborough and Holyrood.

GAME 1 - Prince and Princesses Race - Everyone was wearing acrown on their head as they travelled through cones.

GAME 2 - Walkies Race - This time children had to take their 'Corgi' for a walk in and out through the cones

GAME 3 - Afternoon Tea Race - Children had to carry a cup cake on a bat through the cones

GAME 4 - Royal Ascot Race - The children mounted their toy horses and travelled over the hurdles to complete the race.

GAME 5 - Changing of the Guard Race - This time the children had to march with their swords on their shoulders through the ladders and in and out of the cones

After the races were over we all enjoyed our celebration lunch of Chips (from Flash in the Pan) and very tasty cup cakes (made by Mrs Calderwood).

We also sang happy birthday to Her Majesty during our celebrations.
